Dacotah Clayworks

Hebron Clay Pottery

In 1995 professional studio potter, Robin Reynolds, established Dacotah Clayworks in Hebron, ND. In proximity to the mining operations of Hebron Brick Company, she processes their rough material into a clay body suitable for pottery making. She formulates "earthen" slip glazes to finish her rustic ware by harvesting clay form cutbanks in western North Dakota. Reynolds calls her wares "dirt pots" after the bucolic style of Colonial American pottery. This practical and deceptively simple pottery has an elegance all its own.
